After 14 wonderful years as Select Sitters, we’re thrilled to share some exciting news! We’re rebranding and moving forward as North State Nannies.
This change is more than just a new name; it’s a reflection of how far we’ve come, how much we’ve grown, and where we’re headed next.
When we first launched Select Sitters, our mission was simple: to provide safe, reliable babysitting services for local families. As a young professional, I wanted to connect families with trusted sitters who could bring peace of mind and make life a little easier. Babysitting was at the heart of what we did, and it shaped the foundation of our agency.
About 11 years ago, we expanded into nanny placements, and over time, that side of our business became our primary focus. While babysitting remained close to our hearts, especially for backup care and date nights, the pandemic reshaped the childcare landscape. Families began seeking consistency, professionalism, and long-term support — and we shifted right alongside them.
Today, we specialize in helping families find professional nannies and household managers so they can build lasting relationships. Our work goes far beyond one-time care; it’s about creating strong matches between families and top-tier childcare professionals.
As much as we’ve loved being Select Sitters, the name no longer fully represents who we are or what we do. We’ve evolved, and we wanted a name that captures our current mission and future vision.
That’s where North State Nannies comes in.
It reflects our North Carolina roots. As a proud NC native, this state is home, and our services now reach families across many regions of North Carolina.
It highlights our focus on professional nannies and household support.
It better communicates the quality, consistency, and care we bring to every placement.
While our name is changing, our commitment to families and caregivers remains the same:
